Who are we?

Code Ninjas is the nation’s fastest growing kids coding franchise. In our centre, kids ages 5-14 learn to code in a fun, non-intimidating way – by playing and building video games they love. Kids have a blast and can’t wait to come back. Parents are thrilled as their children gain confidence and new skills including coding, math, logic, and problem-solving, as they progress from white to black belt. Position and Role Description:

We are looking for a Summer Camp counselor (aka: Senseis) to join our team of dynamic, energetic, forward-thinking minds, working toward our common goal: providing a fun and safe learning environment for children. Our Senseis are the lifeblood of our Code Ninjas centre. You will be coaching and instructing kids through our weekly day camps running July 4th - September 1st. You will be sparking young minds and challenging them on a daily basis to become problem solvers through fun-filled coding exercises. If you enjoy working with high energy kids and have excellent people skills, excellent communication skills and are adaptable to resolve problems of all natures then this role is for you.

What we are looking for:

We are looking for Create Program Instructors who are STEM minded, fun and energetic individuals to join our team of dynamic, forward thinking minds, working toward our common goal: Promote STEM Education to Kids Ages 5-14 years old.

Responsibilities include:

• Training – review, understand and learn the curriculum
• Create and maintain a positive, safe and inclusive environment in which students can grow
• Supervises participants in her or his group and must know where campers are at all times;
• Implements safety measures;
• Work with children to determine skill sets
• Be responsible for the day-to-day camp operations, including: program planning, preparing for the activities, running the activities, and interacting with the children who attend the day camps
• Provide feedback to parents after working with a student who is on a tour
• Follow opening/closing duties daily
• Clean dojo throughout the day to ensure cleanliness is kept up to corporate standards
• Report daily to Centre Director with respect to day’s activities and productivity in dojo
• Report weekly to Centre Director or the Owners on progress
• Must be fun to work with and like working in fast-paced environments where requirements can change frequently

Requirements:

• Energetic, enthusiastic, and creative individual with prior experience working with children in a camp setting and/or have experience in teaching, mentoring or child care
• Ability to communicate and work with a variety of ages and skill levels
• Knowledgeable about coding and technology or able to quickly pick up basic concepts
• Like working in fast-paced environments where requirements can change frequently
• Able to work collaboratively with colleagues and be professionally independent with minimum supervision

Compensation ($CAD): $15.50 - $22.00 per hour

Schedule Commitments:

• Monday to Friday - Between 8:00 AM - 5:30 PM
