Job Description


The IT and Equipment Support Supervisor supervises, develops, motivates and inspires the members of his/her team. He/she defines the week's priorities and ensures that deadlines and procedures are respected in order to achieve the set objectives. He/she creates a dynamic work environment, emphasizing collaboration, support and team spirit. He/she reports directly to the IT department manager or to the Vice President of Technology.


Main responsibilities:

  • Ensures that requests are resolved in a timely manner, informing his/her manager of any significant delays or backlogs;
  • Establish standardized practices and processes and ensure that they are followed by all members of the support team;
  • Leads regular team meetings to provide updates, keep abreast of ongoing projects and encourage knowledge and information sharing;
  • Provide feedback to team members on a regular basis and, in collaboration with his/her manager, conduct annual performance reviews;
  • Actively monitors the work climate within the team, ensuring that a positive work environment is maintained and that the company's values are respected;
  • Provide accurate reports on the day-to-day operations within his/her team;
  • Oversee and lead the onboarding process from an IT perspective to meet the expectations of new employees and departments;
  • Ensure that the physical equipment inventory is up to date;
  • In collaboration with the front line support team, sort and prioritize all incoming requests, delegating as necessary;
  • Update and inform his/her manager of any major issues or service requests that require escalation;
  • Participate in the support of the company's network services for incident response and service restoration activities, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week;
  • Identify team training needs and participate in the development and implementation of a training plan and schedule;
  • Communicates staffing needs to the recruiting team, assists in the selection of candidates by reviewing resumes and conducting interviews;
  • Maintains knowledge and keeps abreast of the latest technological advances;
  • Anticipate equipment needs and relay information to his/her manager to help manage budgets and purchase necessary equipment;
  • Identify the workstation needs of the VFX departments and maintain the equipment in working order for their tasks.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar position in a corporate environment;
  • Strong technical learning skills;
  • Excellent prioritization and problem solving skills;
  • Ability to act on the fly;
  • Ability to communicate solutions to problems in a clear and concise manner, both verbally and in writing;
  • Ability to perform tasks beyond the scope of the role on occasion to advance the workload and resolve more advanced issues;
  • Ability to work under pressure and act as a positive role model and mentor;
  • Availability to be on call periodically outside of normal business hours.
