ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a motivated Systems Developer with experience in the development, enhancement, support, and maintenance of a cloud-native Pension Administration platform or similar cloud-native Enterprise Application platform.


This is a fantastic opportunity for a Systems Developer professional to join a team of high-performing individuals and make a great impact in a start-up organization. Reporting directly to the Director, Technology Delivery, this role will partner with both Data and Technology and business partners for gathering requirements, designing solutions, testing processes, training users, and implementing the solution.


This role is based in downtown Toronto under a hybrid work policy, allowing employees the flexibility to work remotely and in-office (approximately two days per week in-office).


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

The Systems Developer will be responsible for a variety of duties, including but not limited to the following:


  • Ability to create solutions from functional requirements.
  • Work with third-party development teams and system stakeholders to design and develop effective programming and software changes.
  • Responsible for integrating the product with other services through APIs.
  • Provide and conduct automated regression testing throughout the QA/UAT phases of each sprint.
  • Testing the system for bugs and performance during all stages of the systems development lifecycle process.
  • Review code technical designs produced by other Systems Developers.
  • Create technical documentation for reference and reporting.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • A bachelor’s degree in areas such as computer science or software engineering from an accredited university.
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in developing software using languages such as JAVA, PL/SQL (PostgreSQL), JavaScript, and CSS.
  • Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data profiling (ETL), and data mining.
  • Experience with cloud-based services, preferably AWS and/or GCP (Google Cloud Platform).
  • Ability to interview end-users for insight into software functionality, interface problems, and usability issues.
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable regarding client needs and technology.
  • Understanding of the agile methodology and DevOps (CI/CD) principles.
  • Capable of prioritizing multiple projects and still meeting deadlines.

NICE-TO-HAVE:

  • Familiarity with SaaS platforms like Workday, ServiceNow or, Salesforce.
  • Certification as an Amazon Web Service (AWS) or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of pension administration systems and/or processes would be an asset.
