THE OPPORTUNITY:

Based at our operations in Etobicoke, Ontario the Tool Maker will be responsible for participating in whole or in part in the building of blow mold tooling, fixtures that assemble and finish plastic parts and related components to within tolerances and specifications as directed by blueprints (and other technical documents), supervision, personal skill and experience. WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Raw materials are retrieved and modified as necessary to complete the tool.
• Perform precision machining tasks to manufacture profiled dies, punches, knives.
• Set up and operate machinery including saws, mills, drills, surface grinder.
• Manufacture Die sets in preparation for mounting.
• "Blue" tooling and revise/bench where necessary.
• Assemble per guidelines and/or instructions.
• Ensure EDM work is completed by qualified employee as appropriate or perform EDM operation.
• Drill, machine, bench and assemble fixtures, dies (examples include: guillotine, Punch units, leak test unit, welders).
• Debur work pieces.
• Complete Specification sheets.
• Review completed tooling for accuracy.
• Install and provide modifications to mold if needed.
• Assist in machine maintenance and general shop cleanliness.
• Complete all assignments within specified time period.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:

Minimum Qualifications:

• 2-5 years of die manufacturing in the sheet metal or plastic.
• Molding field and/or a high school diploma.
• Detailed knowledge of Tool and Die components.
• Ability to utilize bench and assembly tools.
• Strong ability to interpret blueprints.
• Knowledge of CAD design and specialized machining experience.
• Proactive in making recommendations for improvements to the processes, procedures and construction of blow mold tooling and related components.
• In possession of the basic tools to complete the assigned job (i.e. measuring tools, hand tools, optional power/pneumatic tools) or is willing to acquire the necessary tools within a reasonable time period.
