Thompson Construction Group has an immediate opening for a full time Truck & Transport Mechanic working from our Spruce Grove area of operations.

Responsibilities:

• Interpreting work orders and technical manuals
• Performing general and preventive maintenance services
• Diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical and electronic failures by visually inspecting listening to operators input, test driving, and using diagnostic tools
• Notifying supervisor of any additional repairs needed
• Completing repairs or replacing defective parts, components or systems as required
• Testing and inspecting vehicle to ensure repairs are completed to manufacturer specifications and Government standards
• Maintain maintenance records
• Training and/or assisting other technicians or apprentices with their work

Qualifications:

• Heavy Equipment Technician - Truck and Transport Mechanic (Red Seal) Certified
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the Medium / Heavy Duty Truck & Trailer Industry
• CVIP experience / certification is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license.
• CSTS, OSSA or OSSA BSO training is considered an asset
• High degree of product and technical knowledge
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Must be self-motivated and have good written and verbal communication skills
• Able to deal with large volumes of work and demanding situations
• Must be organized and have the ability to prioritize daily workload
• Ability to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy
• Must be able to pass a pre-access drug and alcohol test
• Provincial safety inspections, CVI inspectors license is an asset
