Contor Building Systems Inc. is a steel fabricator and custom solutions provider located at the Port Weller Dry-Docks in St. Catharines, Ontario.

Job Type: Contract (3-Month, renewable)

Salary: $21/hr

Experience: 1-2 Years, must be CWB certified welder

We are currently looking for a qualified Welder/Fitter to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for fitting and assembling pre-fabricated steel buildings, modifying and reinforcing shipping containers for re-purposed use, and fitting and installing light gauge steel paneling.

This position will start out on a 3-month contract, and will be renewable at the end of each term. If the candidate is deemed to be a good fit for our team, we would be willing to offer permanent employment, including benefits.

You will report directly to the Production Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Ability to work with a team, and be willing to train others

· Read and interpret engineering designs and blueprints

· Read and understand standard welding symbols

· Torch/Plasma cut various materials

· Perform assembly and fitting operations on various equipment

· Operates cutting, punching, and sawing equipment

· Operate a lift truck as required

· Cutting and de-burring of material for fabrication and fitting

· Work material ranging from 1/16” to 1/2"

· Perform work in accordance with company safety and quality policy

Qualifications:

· 1-2 years of welding/fitting experience

· CWB certified welder, holding tickets for GMAW/FCAW

· Knowledge of metallurgy considered an asset

· GTAW and ability to weld stainless not required, but considered an asset.
