Position Title: Y MIND Program Facilitator

Reports To: General Manager, Child & Youth

Position Status: Part-Time; 20 hours per week

Compensation: $25 .00 per hour

Start Date: Immediately

Location: Community Y

Qualifications & Skills

  • Facilitators are required to have either a Master’s degree in mental health or Counselling related field or the equivalent combination of experience and education (i.e.. BSW and 3 years' experience in the field). If you have questions about the experience of your facilitators, please reach out directly.
  • Experience working with young people experiencing mild to moderate anxiety specifically, 13–18- year-olds for teen facilitators and 18–30-year-olds for youth facilitators.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience conducting intakes and assessments.
  • Ability to recognize signs and symptoms of mental health needs beyond the mild to moderate spectrum and provide referrals to appropriate medical and community agencies.
  • Experience facilitating mental wellness groups or workshops
  • Demonstrated ability to make sound judgments and decisions; effective prioritizing and problem- solving skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication and conflict resolution skills
  • High degree of independence and initiative within a team environment
