THE ROLE

Reporting to the Manager of Finance, the Accounting Clerk position will assist in the daily financial operations of VITA.

  • Handle the Accounts receivable function.
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual, quarterly, and year-end AR reports
  • Transfers funding to programs and balance bank deposits to monthly bank statements.
  • Calculate, prepares reimbursement billings tracks and reconcile monthly AR process transactions in Great Plains in timely and accurate manner.
  • Assists with the preparation of annual and quarterly reports in accordance with Ministry requirements.
  • Prepare and distribute client / user fee invoices on a timely basis.
  • Collect, receive, and process client / user fee payments.
  • Review receivable aging report and ensure that receivable terms are strictly adhered to.
  • Follow up actions on uncollectible accounts.
  • Reconciliation of general ledger accounts with accounts receivable sub-ledger.
  • Completes all bank functions including deposits, and transfers.
  • Support client/member banking.
  • Support petty cash distribution and control.
  • Physical banking activities including deposit and withdrawal.
  • Liaise with departmental managers regarding financial matters pertaining to expenditures and invoices.
  • Back up to Accounts Payable/Accounting Analyst
  • Preparation of Bingo/fundraising reports to various agencies.
  • Preparation of Donation report and issue of tax receipts.
  • Performs other responsibilities as assigned.

WHAT YOU BRING:

  • A degree in Business, Finance, or similar discipline is required.
  • Experience in an accounting/finance will be an added advantage but not required.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and theory
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with EXCEL, WORD and other

Employment with VITA is conditional on your ability to meet the following requirements:
