A key to success for this position is the ability to deliver an outstanding client service experience to our corporate and personal tax clients.
As part of our Office Administrative Team, the Reception & Bookkeeping Assistant will be responsible for providing clerical, secretarial, bookkeeping and administrative support to our firm ensuring support is provided in an effective and efficient manner. The successful candidate for this role will have the ability to multi-task, know how to prioritize, take initiative, understand office IT (such as software installations and printer problem solving), as well as basic accounting principles. Proficiency with MS Office applications will be required.

What you can expect to be doing:
The Reception & Bookkeeping Assistant will be responsible for front-end administration/reception and client engagement, as this is the first point of contact for our firm, as well as assisting in the firms bookkeeping.
- Providing professional and expeditious servicing of incoming telephone, in-person, and email contact from clients and other internal staff members as this position is the first point of contact
- Proof reading and/or editing internal and external documents
- Banking tasks including recording receipt of payments and preparing bank deposits
- Posting purchase & sales invoices to the firms accounting system
- Assisting with AR collections and follow-up
- Scanning client files and coordinating client mail-outs
- Anticipating the needs of all office staff to ensure resource are available
- Troubleshooting IT complications
- Assisting the CAO in managing firms’ presence on digital platforms
- General office maintenance (supplies, office equipment, furniture, office appearance)
- Performing event planning for both the office and the community
- Other duties as assigned.

- Knowledge and experience in basic bookkeeping
- Able to multi-task, have time management skills, and work under pressure with meeting deadlines
- Proficient with technology, experience with Microsoft Office Suite

The Specifics
This is a full-time, hourly, employed role located in our Mount Pearl office.
Salary: $17 – 18.50 per hour, depending upon qualifications and experience.
Core working hours are July 01 – December 31 Monday to Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm, and January 2 to June 30 8:30am to 5:00pm.
