BUSINESS ANALYST INTERNSHIP (6 Months)

Position Summary:

At Venture Development Institute, we are searching for an energetic and self-motivated Business Analyst Intern to join our team for a paid six-month Internship opportunity. If you’re an ambitious individual who is drawn to analyzing and providing value-added insights on start-ups, and if you have a desire to be involved in multiple functions of an investment team, then we would like to hear from you.

This is an opportunity to gain valuable experience in an open and receptive startup environment within the venture capital/private equity space. In this role you will be responsible for assisting in analysis for a variety of start-up companies at various stages of their development as they progress through an incubation program designed to help them enter and grow in North America.

Objectives of this Role:

• Assist with the assigned ownership of specific start-ups incubation
• Assist with working on multiple projects simultaneously
• Support portfolio company’s operational activities to facilitate growth
• Assist with the monitoring of progress for portfolio companies and produce the required analysis
• Maintain and improve documentation as needed
• Perform other duties as required

Qualifications:

• Recent graduate of a BA or Master’s degree in related field (Business, Finance, etc.).
• Willing to pursue CFA/CAIA/other professional development
• Experience in G Suite (Gmail, Google Docs), Zoom, Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong business acumen and financial literacy skills
• High integrity, strong work ethic, and an ability to work independently
• Demonstrate interest and experience in technology, investment, finance, and entrepreneurship
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Strong initiative, ownership-of-work, and attention-to-detail with the ability to recognize relevant information and communicate a clear thought process
• Comfortable working in a flexible, fast-moving environment
• Solid organizational and prioritization skills in handling multiple tasks
• Positive attitude, detailed oriented, and strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Able to quickly adapt to changing processes and procedures
