Mind Forward Brain Injury Services Ontario is undertaking a search for a new Chief Executive Officer to lead a dedicated staff team and ensure excellence in service delivery and care for clients affected by acquired brain injury (ABI), while being accountable for the overall effective and efficient management of the Agency’s services, human resources, financial resources, locations, and relationships with sector partners, funders and clients.

Mind Forward Brain Injury Services Ontario (Mind Forward) is a non-profit organization that brings help, hope and healing to those whose lives have been forever changed by acquired brain injury (ABI). Mind Forward provides a comprehensive range of supports for individuals who have either sustained an acquired brain injury or caregivers/ family members requiring access to counselling for coping strategies, peer support, and education. With programming is based on a neurocognitive behavioural empirical model, Mind Forward strives to deliver excellence in care to provide the highest quality of life for its clients.

Since 1992, Mind Forward has been committed to offering services to all individuals touched by ABI including community programs, clinical services and assisted living programs. With over six distinct locations and three partner locations, Mind Forward provides services to more than 430 clients in the Mississauga, Orangeville, Brampton, and Halton areas. Funding for Mind Forward Brain Injury Services is provided, in part, by Ontario Health Central and the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care.

In preparation for the upcoming retirement of Mind Forward’s current Chief Executive Officer, the Board of Directors wishes to recruit a collaborative, strategic and people-focused leader to the role of CEO. The CEO will lead a dedicated staff team ensuring excellence in service delivery and care for clients affected by ABI, while being accountable for the overall effective and efficient management of the Agency’s services, human resources, financial resources, locations, and relationships with sector partners, funders and clients.

The ideal candidate is a strategic and collaborative leader with outstanding communication skills and emotional intelligence. The preferred candidate has a minimum of 7 years of senior leadership experience, ideally within the ABI, Health Care, Community Services or other aligned sectors. A proven track record of strategic planning, strong fiscal management, collaborative community/sectoral leadership and successful team building is required. Possessing superior listening and communications skills, the candidate sought will have knowledge of governance and risk, including experience reporting to or working with a volunteer Board, and experience with labour management, including successfully negotiating and building relationships with unions. Most importantly, the ideal candidate is able to create and foster a positive, inclusive and equity-driven organizational culture with engagement by all levels of the staff team, in support of those Mind Forward serves.
