General Summary
This position is accountable for the accounting operations of the Avcorp Group: includes the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and preparation and maintenance of comprehensive internal processes and controls. The successful candidate will support the preparation of the Avcorp Group budget, design processes to mitigate risk, enhance accuracy of the company’s reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles (IFRS).
This is a 12 months contract position with a possibility of extension.
Primary Responsibilities
- Monthly Consolidation and Quarterly Financial Statement Preparation
- Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
- Maintain documented internal processes and controls in compliance with the COSO Framework.
- Provide support for all accounting operations of subsidiary corporations, primarily their control systems, transaction-processing operations, and policies and procedures.
- Maintain financial records of intercompany transactions and intercompany debt
- Prepare Canadian and US tax filings and tax provision accounting.
- Project Manage / Coordinate the information to external auditors for the annual audit of the Group Financial Statements
- Prepare group financial and operational metrics on a monthly basis. Coordinate the preparation of the corporate quarterly and annual reports.
- Manage the preparation of the corporate and consolidated group annual budget and forecasts.
- Provide financial analyses as needed, in support of capital investments, and financing decisions.
Qualifications and Experience
- 4 - 6 years of progressively responsible experience in a public company or Big 4 CPA firm.
- Chartered Professional Accountant designation required
- Understanding of ERP Systems and Cost Accounting an asset
- Must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19
