We design, build, rent and sell lightweight teardrop trailers in Burnaby, BC with a goal to encourage more people to venture out for camping trips. The easy-to-tow camper from DROPLET provides campers with the new level of comfort during their exploration of the great outdoors.

The role:

As our company grows, we need to provide the increasing number of customers with a detailed visual user manual. The goal is to create a document that will be shared with both new owners and renters of DROPLET trailers as well as audiovisual supporting content for the initial document.

We are looking for a talented and creative individual to create a technically clear and visually appealing user manual that showcases the functionality and features of our tiny campers. The additional responsibilities include content creation to support the user manual with corresponding pictures and videos. This is an amazing opportunity for the right candidate to join an active team early in our journey, with lots of opportunities to take responsibilities.

Your tasks:

  • Technical writing with the main focus on DROPLET trailer functionality and add-ons
  • Responsibility for the visual form of the text
  • Graphic design of the user manual to provide a clear understanding of how to operate our teardrop trailers
  • Content creation and edition - photography and videos to show related features in a simple and understandable way
  • Content adjustments - editing and adjusting the content to fit various channels

Qualification:

  • Technical writing skills
  • Graphic design experience
  • Content Creation as well as photo and video editing
  • Familiar with MS Word, Pages or Google Docs

The position is subsidized Digital Skills for Youth (DS4Y). Please note the eligibility criteria for applicants:

  • Be between the ages of 15 and 30, inclusive, at the start of the internship
  • Be a post-secondary graduate (i.e. has completed a diploma or degree following secondary education) at the start of the internship
  • Not be in receipt of EI during the course of the work placement
  • Be legally entitled to work in Canada as a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or person who has been granted refugee status, at the start of the internship
  • Not be an immediate family member of the recipient or Employer
  • Be a new hire for the Employer
  • Reside in BC
  • Self-assess as underemployed, meaning they are employed below their level of education and/or hold part-time employment, or are unemployed
  • Not have completed a DS4Y work placement in their lifetime and
  • Not be a co-op student

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $17.00-$21.00 per hour
