General Job Description
Reporting to the Engineering Supervisor, you will be responsible for the development and improvement of all paint processes, including defect reduction, cycle time management, material usage and process control. You have the ability to complete tasks within tight timelines, double check tasks and processes while ensuring exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. Your strong communication and customer service focus is key to success. You are known for being proactive, results-oriented, resourceful and able to meet deadlines without compromising accuracy and product quality.
Experience working in a Paint Environment with working knowledge of Paint Process is considered an asset
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and improve paint processes for assigned parts
- Work with paint and jig suppliers to define requirements
- Program robots, determine flow, fan, viscosity, temp, pressure and atomization settings
- Conduct trials to develop process parameters and meet customer specifications and orders
- Issue “PFS”, problem follow up sheets with MSCN’s to countermeasure problems and eliminate defects.
- Optimize process settings to reduce cycle time and paint usage while maintaining “0” defects.
- Explain process issues and progress at daily morning meeting.
- Document Condition Settings and any Work Instructions.
- Meet customer “HVPT” high volume production trial criteria
- Train Supervisors on how to start up process and maintain “0” defects.
- Continuously improve processes for assigned parts to reduce downtime, cost and defects.
- Work in a safe manner and maintain 5S.
- TG Minto may amend the reporting structure and/or duties and responsibilities as business needs require.

Education or Experience
- College diploma or three years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, and technical drawings.
- Ability to effectively present information to top management.
Mathematical Skills
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
