Position Summary:

Reporting to the Director, of Entertainment, the Entertainment & Booking Manager will maximize the utilization of the Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto Entertainment Facilities through programming, rentals, and private events. Responsible for securing and servicing rental business to increase income and ensure superior customer service. Assisting in the budgeting of programmed entertainment and providing leadership in the planning, coordination, and execution of all events.

Major Responsibilities:

- Promote and sell Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto to prospective rental clients, respond to rental inquiries, and conduct site visits, provide timely and accurate rental information in a polite manner reflecting the highest standards of professional service.

- Prepare accurate cost estimates and essential paperwork for clients, coordinate with relevant departments for details and act as the liaison between the client and internal departments.

- Assist in the budgeting and planning of programmed events, including the costing of artist rider requirements, travel and accommodation where applicable.

- Advance programmed show/event requirements with client/tour manager, act as the onsite contact for events, including coordinating deliveries, suppliers, event set up, facility preparedness, signage, client assistance and all planning and day of event requirements.

-Perform artist liaison duties for house presentations, ensuring that artist requirements are advanced via tour manager or directly as required (i.e.: ground transport, accommodation, catering, payment, etc.)

-Keep internal departments informed of detailed event requirements through weekly calendar meetings and event coordination memos, and direct activity accordingly.

- Maintain positive, open lines of communication with clients and internal departments; identify potential problems and negotiate solutions that meet the needs of all parties, direct event staff before and on event site on behalf of the client to ensure smooth running event procedures.

- Troubleshoot problems and issues as they arise during events, making immediate decisions on courses of action to ensure the overall success of events, including having to make last-minute leadership decisions on event site, upholding venues service standard and building rules and regulations, while maintaining client satisfaction

-Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

- A minimum 5 years of experience in entertainment management, event planning, or venue bookings.

- Ability to work effectively under pressure and respond nimbly to deadlines.

- Careful, diplomatic, a highly organized problem-solver with an assiduous attention to detail.

- Proven sales experience with a focus on long term profit and excellent customer service.

- Good computer skills with a mastery of Outlook and Excel, experience working with event management software an asset.

- Excellent verbal, written, and negotiation skills, team oriented with an ability to work independently.

- Ability to work days, evenings, and weekends including holidays, as required to support operational requirements.

Work Environment Considerations

  • Regular stadium and back-office environment, standing for long periods of time, non-traditional work hours.
