EXPERIENCED EXCAVATOR, DOZER AND GRADER OPERATORS

POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Site Foreman, the Heavy Equipment Operators will be operating excavators, bulldozers, and/or graders on a daily basis. The Heavy Equipment Operators will be working on a rotational basis in a remote location where camp accommodations and meals will be provided. The project sites are located in Northern Manitoba and Northern Ontario and require day and night shifts.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

• Able to operate excavators, bulldozers, graders in a safe and efficient manner
• Conduct daily pre-trip safety inspection on equipment
• Perform general maintenance and cleaning of construction equipment as required
• Report all incidents and near misses to direct supervisor
• Ensure safety is a top priority at all times
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

• 2+ years experience operating heavy equipment is mandatory
• Dozer Operators must have knock down experience in bush and tree clearing
• Powerline experience will be considered an asset
• GPS and finishing experience will be considered an asset
• Ability to shovel equipment tracks and inspect equipment is required
• Ability to work day and night shift is mandatory
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to self-start and take initiative on tasks
• Strong communication skills both verbal and written
