Reports To: Head of Facilities and Security
Position Summary
The Security Guard will work closely with the Head of Facilities and Security to assist in coordinating activities relating to the protection, safeguarding, and security of company assets, employees, visitors, and others.

Job Duties
- Answer all unanswered incoming calls, redirect, or take messages and email recipients
- Answer the door(s)
- Admit all visitors and contractors, do paperwork, maintain logs etc
- Issue all security elements to new users and brief them on security related procedures.
- Issue and supervise all onboarding, training, site orientation documents etc.
- Collect and maintain all onboarding information (clothing sizes, vehicle information, photo, etc)
- Do random and directed spot checks for all infractions, issue warnings and collect infraction information using the existing infraction reporting system.
- Assist in continuous improvement of security and facility related SOPs
- Ensure visitors have proper PPE
- Initiate lockdown of rooms and lead ensuing investigations when product is missing
- Investigate any alarm triggers during shift (intrusion, fire, gas, flood, temperature, etc)
- Patrol the facility and grounds on a regular basis
- Perform the SOP mandated daily checks in all areas outside of clean areas (leaks, damage, intrusion, infestation, snow blockage, equipment operation, etc), and document the results
- Create new security elements based on instructions from HOS/AHOS for expected visitors/staff
- Issue lockers, storage space, safety equipment, etc., to visitors and staff, explain usage - maintain records
- Revoke security elements at direction of Head of Security or Assistant Head of Security
- Supervise offboarding from a security standpoint, escort offsite, supervise personal effects collection etc.
- Monitor parking areas for improper use.
- Monitor statutory infractions such as noise/smell/parking/smoking/masking and enforce compliance or make the proper department aware of the situation
- Oversee all high value loading dock transactions
- Detain individuals for arrest
- Do end of night lockups with SCP/management on duty.
- Investigate any alarm or access control anomalies, especially at closing.
- Handle fire watch if it is required.
- Monitor cameras throughout the facility to check for any suspicious/improper activity and developing situations.
- Keep track of security/onboarding related consumables and supplies and initiate the restocking process.
- Coordinate with any emergency responders coming to the site, to update them on a developing situation, and direct them upon arrival
- Open gates as needed for snow clearing, landscaping, deliveries etc
- Handle all issues relating to lost/stolen/forgotten security elements
- Act as the first level reactionary to all automated facility notifications such as improper swiping, use of out of bounds doors, doors held open, etc.
- Retrieve and share requested video footage of on-site incidents (equipment malfunction, staff issues, loss prevention issues, etc)
- Triage requests for service for the facilities departments and direct them to whoever is on shift from the appropriate department if urgent and record them in the queue if not urgent.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience
- Use of force training
- Above average computer skills
- Experience with a regulated environment – gambling, pharmaceutical, medical, aerospace etc.
Assets

- RPAL (handgun license)
- Related degree/diploma to the security field
- Loss prevention experience
- High value transaction experience
- Past involvement with the Cannabis industry
