Job Summary
The Financial Analyst provides professional reporting, balancing and reconciliation services. The Analyst should determine the best use of resources to achieve superior business outcomes. This position must be able to verify information and process payments following appropriate protocols requiring precision and attention to detail. Confidentiality of records and considerable judgement in accounting procedures is expected while meeting appropriate deadlines.

The Financial Analyst interacts with a variety of groups requiring strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships and work independently while providing timely, relevant, and accurate reports, analyzing data and account reconciliation. The Financial Analyst will understand and facilitate the integration of business processes, people, and relevant technology to identify, organize, and communicate useful information.

Qualifications
Education and Experience

  • Post-Secondary Accounting Diploma or Degree, OR relevant discipline;
  • Minimum 10 years of related experience.
  • A significant combination of education and experience will be considered.

Skills and Abilities

  • Superior knowledge of accounting practices, principles and government reporting;
  • Ability to review financial documents for accuracy, completeness, validity, and adherence to standards;
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail;
  • Ability to prioritize work assignments to balance multiple demands;
  • Understanding of financial accounting systems, preferably Adagio and Paydirt. Must have extremely strong

MS Excel expertise;

  • Proficient in Management Information Systems (MIS) and Integrated Case Management (ICM) database systems;
  • Able to work independently and as a member of a diverse team, where productive relationships are developed and maintained;
  • Recognizes and respects all cultural diversity and has an understanding of local Secwépemc culture and traditions.

Working Conditions

  • Occasional travel required;
  • Potential for violence in the workplace;
  • Hours of work are nonstandard and connected to services and community needs;
  • Receives regular supervision with direction and checks of the work performed.

Conditions of Employment

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Criminal Record Check;
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid BC Driver’s License class 5 no restrictions;
  • Must provide a vehicle in good operating condition and appropriate insurance to meet program requirements;
