Job Description

The Delivery Driver, is responsible for delivering products to our Markets within the Kitchener/Waterloo area, stocking the markets, and taking arcuate inventories. Main duties include driving a delivery vehicle, delivering items in a timely manner, and communicating with both customers and the Unit Manager to assess any issues or requests. The ideal candidate will have a clean record, strong communication skills, and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee cargo handling and secure loads, including equipment preparation, application of safe practices, and compliance with applicable acts and regulations.
• Operate Cargo Van through all weather conditions,
• Attend pre-job Safety meetings; ensure safety and emergency equipment is in good working order; and accurately complete all required forms.
• Perform trip inspections to ensure mechanical, safety and emergency equipment is in good working order and accurately fill out all required forms.
• Verify delivery instructions and ensure that all packages are delivered to the correct address and recipient.
• Adhere to established food delivery schedules for catering events, working in an efficient, safe, and organized manner.
• Respond to customer and client concerns and requests.
• Remain an ambassador of goodwill, ethics, and great client relations at all times on behalf of the Company.
• Listens to customers (internal and external) and responds professionally to all questions and concerns, directing concerns to further levels of management as needed.
• Establish and maintain effective communication with colleagues.
• Consult with supervisor and crew regarding any operational deficiencies.
• Comply with applicable legislation including safe operation, carriage of goods, driver’s hours, and occupational health and safety.
• Maintaining cleanliness of truck and equipment.
• Maintain daily logs, inspection logs and other necessary paperwork.
• Other duties as required.f

Requirements:

• Valid Class G driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Knowledge of Food and Hospitality industry an asset

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
