Metrolinx is connecting communities across the Greater Golden Horseshoe. Metrolinx operates GO Transit and UP Express, as well as the PRESTO fare payment system. We are also building new and improved rapid transit, including GO Expansion, Light Rail Transit routes, and major expansions to Toronto’s subway system, to get people where they need to go, better, faster and easier. Metrolinx is an agency of the Government of Ontario.

Our Driver Assignment Office is seeking a General Clerk on a contract for up to 12 months , who under the supervision of the Supervisor, Administration, will be responsible for providing administrative support through record keeping and data input, distribution of driver supplies and handling driver cash-ins.

What will I be doing?

  • Calculates, verifies, researches, prepares and maintains a variety of records, documents, statistics, reports, and inventories.
  • Updates / inputs daily and prepares bi-weekly timekeeping for submission to Payroll.
  • Prepares invoices related to charters and contracted operations.
  • Maintains accurate records of the purchase and distribution of uniforms, equipment issues, and office supplies.
  • Performs cash-ins of Driver’s On-Board sales. Receives, distributes, and tracks overage/shortage vouchers accordingly.
  • Handles tickets and cash.
  • Investigates pay claims and makes adjustments as required
  • Sorts and distributes Bus Driver’s incoming and outgoing mail.
  • Processes Lost & Found items brought in off buses.

What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need?

  • Level of reading, writing, and learning skills normally attained through completion of Grade 12 education
  • Minimum 6 months experience involving general office duties with exposure to record-keeping.
  • Must have good oral communications skills, good analytical and organizational abilities in order to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to enter accurately source data into a computer terminal.
  • Must be proficient in the use of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
  • Good judgement is required in prioritizing daily work activities. Strong knowledge of Collective Agreement and Corporate Policies.
