GENERAL LABOUR POSITION

Western Archrib is currently looking to fill a General Labor position at our Edmonton east facility. Our high-volume wood manufacturing plant manufactures a full range of custom glue-laminated structural wood beams. Western Archrib has been a leader in the design, manufacture, and custom fabrication of glued-laminated structural wood systems since 1951. The right candidates for these positions should have experience in wood manufacturing or carpentry but not a requirement, and we will provide job-specific training.

Duties: Will include but are not limited to:

Ø Using power tools to finish and complete structured wood beams, applying paint and sealer

Ø Operating overhead cranes

Ø Grading lumber and general work site clean-up duties.

Ø Specialized training after a probationary period may include workplace inspections.

Requirements:

Ø Candidates must be physically fit.

Ø Ability to work 8hr shifts – 40hrs per week. (Some overtime may be required).

Ø First aid training are assets to this position but not a requirement.

Work Schedules:

Ø Standard work schedule will be Mon-Fri 6 am-2 pm.

Ø Overtime may be required

Benefits:

Ø After 180 days of employment, workers will be eligible for sick days based on the pro-rated number of days left in the calendar year.

Ø Vacation pay accumulates each pay period. Accumulated vacation can be paid out at the request of the employee.

Benefits include the following after 90-day probation period:

Ø Health and dental coverage including Life Insurance, Long-Term Disability, Accidental Death, Bereavement, and Dismemberment.

Ø $200 Annual work boot allowance

Salary: From $23.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
