Six Pints Collectiveis currently seeking a Head Brewer to join our Brewing Team at our Brewery based in Creemore, Ontario! The role of Head Brewer is at the heart of what the brewery is all about. It is the hard work and attention to detail at this point in the process that ensures there is beer of the highest quality, prepared in the correct amounts, within the specified timelines. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES - The duties of this role are vital to the success of our brewing operation and consist of, but not limited to, the following:
Production Planning
- Schedule daily brewing, cellar and filter operations based on forecast
- Coordinate dry-hopping, tank transfers and maintenance tasks within the brewing department
- Manage yeast handling, re-pitching and internal lot tracking
Inventory Management
- Monitor and maintain raw materials inventory
- Maintain full traceability and accurate inventory
- Work with procurement to ensure supply-chain of raw materials is always met
- Work with warehouse staff to ensure availability of materials to brewing staff
Production Tracking
- Input and maintain production within our ERP system
- Maintain accurate BOMs in response to recipe updates or material changes
Product Quality
- Work with quality department to ensure products meet specification targets and micro stability specifications
- Investigate and troubleshoot quality related events and on-going issues
- Track and report Key Performance Indicators
Maintenance and Projects
- Participate in our preventative maintenance program
- Respond to emergent equipment related issues including aiding in repair and mitigating downstream effects
- Lead or participate in projects from small trials to integration of capital expenditure
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of brewing experience
- Formal degree or diploma in brewing, biology, or chemistry
- Supervisory experience preferred
- Proficient in Excel, Word, and general IT
- Process oriented and mechanically inclined
- Strong communication, analytical and mathematical skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
- Desire to continually improve yourself, grow and develop within the company
- Flexible schedule with no fixed hours
