Fort Garry Industries has an exciting opportunity for a Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team at our Thunder Bay branch.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Repair and replace hydraulic pumps, safety valves, and any other necessary mechanical components
- Perform incidental welding operations on steel and/or aluminum equipment
- Diagnose defects in heavy duty equipment and perform required mechanical repairs
- Electrical and hydraulic troubleshooting and diagnostics
- Replace mechanical transmissions and drivetrains
- Repair cable-operated working attachments, winches, compressors, pumps, APU’s, etc.
- Test repaired equipment for proper performance
- Installation of new and added-on equipment
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum 1 year experience as a heavy-duty mechanic or registered apprentice
- Completed journeyperson designation preferred
- Proven mechanical abilities in truck & transport repair, including schematics and diagnostics
- Experience with routine or preventative maintenance operations
- Proven mechanical abilities in Truck & Transport Repair, including schematics and diagnostics
- Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
