Responsibilities and Duties:

Analyze Private Equity Investment Opportunities:
Build financial models to analyze transactions (incorporating operating drivers, historical and forecast financial statements, multiple capital structures, and exit valuation and returns analysis, as well as different scenarios).
Support the deal team in working with third-party advisors to perform due diligence on opportunities including, financial, legal, tax, regulatory, etc..
Perform valuation analysis, including precedent transaction, comparable company, and DCF analysis.
Assist in presenting investment recommendations to the relevant investment committees.

Post-Acquisition Portfolio Management:
Assist in financial reporting responsibilities for the existing portfolio companies.
Assist management teams in establishing financial forecasts, evaluating acquisitions, significant capital projects and financing alternatives.
Assist in building relationships with portfolio company management teams.
Monitor ongoing financial and operational performance

Qualifications:

A post-secondary degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business
Experience in financial modelling, intrinsic valuation methodologies, private equity waterfall modelling
Ability to deconstruct a company's financials and analyze/forecast a company's operations
Polished and professional written and verbal communication skills
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and good understanding of corporate structures
Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
Demonstrated interest in private equity and investment management, financial analysis and valuation techniques
Nice-to-have: working towards a CPA or CFA designation
Nice-to-have: financial analysis experience in investment banking, management consulting, private equity, or corporate finance; significant transaction experience is a plus
