MMC has an opportunity for a JAVA Applications Support Specialist to join the Toronto office.

What can you expect?

• Serve as primary onshore support specialist for JAVA written business applications
• Maintain high level of communications with main support staff offshore
• Assist with application security compliance directives
• Assist with application infrastructure changes and database environmental upgrades
• Work autonomously to recreate problems and identify necessary fixes using a variety of software tools and resources.
• Develop communications that inform clients and internal users of new software application roll outs and implementations; outages and downtime, new system functionality upgrades, software training opportunities, new system documentation resources, and other events that may impact a client’s ability to use the existing or new system

We will count on you to:

• Diagnose and resolve complex application issues, working with clients (primarily internal, occasionally external), other IT departments and suppliers as appropriate.
• Communicate with users by delivering best practice communications, guidance, and other appropriate support until tickets are resolved.
• Confer with other IT colleagues as needed to assist with solving issues depending on the problem encountered.
• Identify software problems, primarily from internal systems users regarding issues on system usability including but not limited to functionality, sign-on, security access, reporting, and systems upgrades.

What you need to have:

• Must have 5+ years of JAVA development skills
• Good to have knowledge of JAVA development technologies such as Bitbucket, Jenkins, Confluence, Eclipse, Nexus
• Good to have familiarity with web service calls, OKTA, ORACLE databases, ServiceNow, Microsoft 365
• Good communication skills
