Job Description
Wellsite Environmental Inc. is looking for someone to join our environmental services team. This position will consist of a mix of field based and office-based work and will be primarily focused on completion of biophysical field assessments and associated reporting. Field assessments will include but not limited to the following:
- Pre-Disturbance Assessments for oil and gas projects
- Special Areas Environmental Reviews
- Wetland Assessments
- Wildlife Sweeps and Surveys
In addition to the primary role conducting site assessments and reporting the successful candidate may be required to assist in environmental desktop review, spill response, reclamation services (Phase 1, Phase 2,
DSA) and other various tasks. This position will primarily be a full time Monday-Friday position but does require someone with the ability to work in the field on short notice, occasionally including weekends and holidays and may involve some extended periods working in the field. When not in the field a variety of office tasks will be required. The head office in Calgary, Alberta with a field office based in the
Drumheller/Hanna area. Work would be based from the Calgary office, or home-based locations throughout east central Alberta may be considered for the right candidate. Wellsite Environmental Inc. will offer a competitive wage that will be based on qualifications and experience, consideration may be made for those who would like to work as a sub-contractor.
Qualifications and Skills Required
➢ Minimum requirement of a two-year Diploma in Environmental Science, Renewable Resource
Management or equivalent from a Post-Secondary Institution.
➢ Good plant identification skills, basic soil classification and wetland classification.
➢ Strong wildlife knowledge and identification skills.
➢ Valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
➢ Valid H2S and First Aid.
➢ A Professional Designation or potential to receive a Professional Designation is an asset but not required.
➢ A Qualified Wetland Science Practitioner (QWSP) designation is an asset but not required.

Salary: $41,721.41-$91,207.89 per year
