The Wainwright Health Centre contains a 25-bed acute care medical/surgical unit, 4-bed obstetrical suite, and 24/7 Emergency Department, in addition to an OR, day surgery unit and cardiac wellness services. As members of the nursing team, Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) are responsible and accountable for the safe quality care of clients. LPNs assess, coordinate, and participate in total nursing care for patients and supervise in accordance with CLPNA nursing practice standards, as well as provide leadership, direction, and encouragement to staff.

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Preferred Qualifications:Minimum one (1) year Acute and Emergency nursing experience is preferred. Experience with Meditech, and general computer skills are preferred. CTAS and ACLS are preferred.
