As a Senior General Machinist, you will be responsible for manufacturing components in a machine shop environment and will report directly to the Machine Shop Lead.

The hours for the afternoon shift are 3:30 pm to 2:00 am, Monday to Thursday. Shift premium applies.

Senior Machinist Key Accountabilities:

- Read and interpret drawings and determine work and/or repair procedures

- Set up and operate to prescribe tolerances on lathes, mills, surface grinders, and saws

- Select mechanical measuring, checking and layout tools and devices

- Execute measuring, checking and layout operations

- Perform metal removing operations using hand and power cutting tools

- Fit and assemble parts and sub-assemblies to build special-purpose machinery

- Some heavy lifting

- Mentor and lead Apprentices, Junior, and Intermediate Machinists

Education:

- Completion of an apprenticeship program for Machinist and holds a General Machinist 429A Certificate of Qualification

Senior Machinist Key Professional Attributes:

- Minimum 5+ years direct working experience

- The ability to Set up, program and operate ACU-RITE NC knee milling machines is an asset.

- HAAS CNC set up and operation is an asset.
