Maintenance Mechanic – Afternoons & Nights

Every week, we process more than 3 million pounds of meat, making us one of the largest meat manufacturing facilities in Canada.

Shift Details:

• Full-time, permanent
• Afternoon Shift: 3:00 pm – 12:30 am
• Night Shift: 11:00 pm – 7:30 am
• Pay Rate: TBD
• Monday – Friday

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Maintenance Mechanics are responsible for ensuring that the equipment for multiple production lines is running properly and efficiently; includes blenders, grinders, and various food processing and packaging units.

General Responsibilities

• Teardown and setup production equipment as needed, including completing changeovers per production schedule.
• Troubleshoot and solve various mechanical issues as they arise.
• Provide support to other maintenance staff including Electricians, Millwrights and Powerhouse.
• Perform regular routines without direct supervision. Advise Production or Maintenance Manager of any issues that could impact production.
• Complete associated documentation as established by Erie Meat Products for inventory tracking, HACCP plan compliance or other purposes.
• Act as an advisor to Machine Operators if non-mechanical issues occurs.
• Complete Preventative and Predictive Maintenance tasks as per the company’s extensive PM Program.

Education, Training or Work Experience

• At least one-year experience as a Maintenance Mechanic (food plant experience preferred).
