The brief
Lethbridge College’s Centre for Teaching, Learning and Innovation (CTLI) is looking for a Manager of Emerging Learning Models to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the Associate Dean, CTLI, this team-lead position works with faculty, administrators, stakeholders, and other members of the CTLI to enhance our innovative, human-centred teaching and learning environment.
This one-year position will fill in behind the previous manager, who has been seconded to another position.

The ELM Manager leads and manages the Emerging Learning Models Team, which provides consultation, facilitation, design, and development of learning systems and experiences for various partners across the college and our community. The ELM team works closely with other multidisciplinary project teams to design and develop learning experiences and facilitate stakeholder engagement sessions.

The ELM Manager collaborates with many internal and external stakeholders, including industry and regulatory bodies, and is often a key facilitator for strategy sessions.

Job Duties
Here’s how the Emerging Learning Models Manager contributes to Lethbridge College’s culture of innovation, excellence, and inclusion.
Leadership: Leads and collaborates on provincial-, institutional-, and centre-level initiatives such as micro-credential, dual-credit, apprenticeship-style programs and strategic engagement and facilitation.

Collaboration: Collaborates with CTLI and other academic centres and departments. Works closely with both credit and non-credit development centres.
Engagement: Engages with internal representatives to identify needs and develop processes and tools to support emerging learning models.
Non-academic curriculum: Collaborates with other CTLI department leaders to identify connections between non-academic and/or emerging learning models and existing processes.

Accountability: Oversees and mentors ELM team members and the recruitment and training of new CTLI contract instructional designers.
Delegation: Assigns project and non-credit curriculum development to team members and helps assemble design teams.
Project management: Serves as first point of contact between CTLI and other college departments for learning experience design and development initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree with specialization in education; instructional design; or educational research, technology, and/or curriculum development
  • Experience designing competency-based learning models such as micro-credentials and badging
  • Experience with and awareness of Alberta Trades legislation, curriculum, and programming
  • Experience and/or education in Indigenous education or Indigenization of curriculum
  • Demonstrated team leadership skills
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development
