Overview
Treasury Operations is responsible for safeguarding the cash assets of the Company through a robust control environment and excellence in operational execution on a global basis.
Treasury Operations is recruiting a Manager, Treasury Operations & Transformation to assist in driving the transformation of Treasury Operations at Manulife. Under the guidance of the Director, Treasury Operations & Transformation, the Manger will be responsible to identify opportunities to streamline, centralize, consolidate, eliminate, and automate business processes and controls. The Manger will support the solving business problems, build improved processing capabilities, create efficiencies in the processes while aligning with internal and external regulatory and compliance requirements, and accounting requirements to achieve Manulife’s strategic priorities of delivering cost efficiencies, managing with resiliency, and becoming a digital customer centric organization.
Responsibilities
- Support identification of areas for process improvement and business transformation through data analysis, process mapping and stakeholder engagement
- Collaboration with cross-functional/business partners in defining change and capabilities to meet future state, regulatory compliance while optimizing and leveraging technology and digitization tools
- Ensure programs/projects are aligned with overall Treasury Operations Transformation strategy, roadmaps, key results, and core competencies
- Work with project and operations teams for transformational programs/initiatives to integrate change management tools to develop processes that track progress, identify, and address change issues and provide updates to senior leadership and project plans
- Utilize tools for measuring success of change through key performance indicators (KPIs) and other metrics
- Collaborate with change initiators (business and project teams) to understand critical business requirements and change impact
- Partner with key internal and external groups to ensure alignment on change impact, messaging, audience, timing, and approach based on the change management strategic objectives
- Build and grow relationships with key business partners (Operations, IT, business units, third party vendors)
- Apply best practices to build transformation and change
- Define operational issues, identify risks, and recommend options based on data-driven assessments
- Support value stream analyses of current and future processes including impacts on business, operational processes, and system features
- Develop and deliver training for end-users on new/modified processes and system features including procedures, guides, and presentations
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree/certificate equivalent in Business, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- A Professional designation/certification in Treasury, Accounting, Project Management, Business Analysis, Change Management, Process Improvement
- 3+ years working in a PMO or transformation office and/or 3+ in business analysis, business system analysis and system testing
- Experience in delivering complex projects involving system implementation and business process re-design
- Experience in creating and rolling out transformative processes
- Ability to understand technical changes and translate this understanding to an overall analysis of the people/workforce impacts
- Experience in process re-engineering and change management
- Experience in developing and delivering end-user training
- People management and leadership experience (full-time and contingent staff)
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to exercise impact and influence to drive change and decision making
- Ability and experience in interacting (presenting, facilitation, decision-making) with senior level management
- Proficiency in MS Suite including PowerPoint, Word, Excel (including macros and power query), Visio (MS Project is an asset)
- Programming / coding skills (e.g., SQL, SAS), experience with Power platform, Power BI, Alteryx (asset)
- Experience with test automation tools

Primary Location
Salary range is expected to be between
$82,500.00 CAD - $148,500.00 CADIf you are applying for this role outside of the primary location, please contact recruitment@manulife.com for the salary range for your location. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training. Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance.
