Job Overview
This role supports Wawanesa’s success by helping to lead our organization to greater levels of customer satisfaction by analyzing and establishing staffing plans to meet service needs within appropriate financial controls. The Workforce Management Manager will lead the workforce planning program that will design new servicing strategies and operations capabilities that will increase and grow overall revenue, improve member satisfaction, and create operational efficiencies across Canadian Enterprise Operations. This role is accountable to support enterprise project initiatives by leading and managing partner relationships regarding FTE resourcing. This position requires the building of internal/external relationships, manage project level deliverables assigned through initiatives and consult with the various business partners to impact, influence, and achieve success in our business strategy. The successful candidate will have good analytical and critical thinking skills and be able to communicate detailed and sometimes complex information while maintaining positive relationships with stakeholders.
Job Responsibilities
Reporting to the Director, National Claims and Workforce Management, the primary responsibility will be to ensure the successful integration of Workforce Management concepts within the various businesses across the enterprise.
- Understand the strategic objective of leveraging Workforce Management across the enterprise
- Demonstrate experience in strategic and business planning, business case development, practices, principles of project management, workforce management and operational processes
- Provide oversight to the design and maintenance of the Workforce Management Planning methodology, processes, and procedures to create FTE plans for Claims, underwriting and other functional areas as required

- Function as a consultant for internal and external partners providing insight, expertise, and recommendations as it relates to Workforce Management & Workforce Optimization
- Work with internal and external partners to develop proposals, articulate their need, and implement solutions
- You give meaning to data; you enjoy investigating complex problems and making sense of information; you are confident in your ability to communicate detailed information in an impactful way
- Identify and recommend improvement opportunities to enhance operational efficiency
- Manage a team and facilitate regular meetings with internal and external partners
- Manage and resolve obstacles as they arise
- Keep abreast and leveraging competitor information and best practices
- Keep business leaders and partners informed of WFM initiatives

Qualifications
- 5 -7 years of experience in a workforce management role
- Knowledge of and experience in P&C insurance services industry; claims, strongly preferred
- Experience in capacity planning for complex transactions
- Industry experience in strategy, process improvement or analytics role
- Post-secondary degree in business administration or equivalent experience is preferred
- Experience with Workforce optimization software tools, Power BI, Excel, desktop technology
- Excellent analytical reasoning, investigative skills, benchmarking, and trending experience
- Data Science or Analytics capabilities an asset
- Strong people skills to work with all levels of internal stakeholders
- Excellent influencing skills, able to distill core concepts, build consensus, and influence key stakeholders
- Ability to think creatively and innovatively
- Strong verbal, listening, written communication skills required
- Ability to develop, implement and manage a workforce planning and scheduling approach in a multi-channel environment
- Effectively adapts to change and helps to guide team through change process.
- Prior people manager experiences an asset
- Travel may be required
- Bilingual English/French is considered an asset
