JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Description:

Dymon Storage provides customers with secure 24/7 access to their units. In addition, prospective customers can obtain leasing information and reserve storage units at their convenience, day or night. The Night Service & Security Associate is responsible for the care of our customers and facilities when retail operations are closed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively monitors the activities of customers and visitors on the premises and the functioning of facility equipment (elevators, speed doors, HVAC) via video surveillance.
  • Ensures that security equipment is in good working order.
  • Provides access control and assistance to customers having difficulties with access codes.
  • Responds to all telephone inquiries from existing and prospective customers regarding unit availability/pricing, lease terms, accounts, service requests, retail products and pricing, move-ins and move-outs, truck scheduling; identifies customer needs and reserves storage units.
  • Responds appropriately to alarms, emergencies and equipment malfunctions by alerting the appropriate authorities and the on-call manager.
  • Completes Footage Requests
  • Conducts Virtual Audits of all Sites including Dymon Wine Cellar, Dymon Work Refine, as well as any ad-hoc Virtual Audit Requests
  • Audits and reports on DYMONShred activities
  • Completes comprehensive shift reports detailing activities, events and inquiries.

Primary Objectives:

  • Proudly represent, promote and protect the DYMON Storage brand through the delivery of excellent service that consistently exceeds customer expectations.
  • Provide a safe and secure environment for customers accessing DYMON facilities after regular retail hours.
  • Identify and respond to any activities or events that may cause damage to the DYMON property and facilities.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent telephone communication skills preferably in English and French.
  • Superior customer service as evidenced by references and commendations.
  • Computer proficiency using a Windows Operating System, Microsoft Outlook and Word.
  • Familiarity with security programs, video cameras and monitors.
  • Demonstrates sound judgment, decision making skills and the ability to direct others in an emergency.
  • Possesses the ability to work alone with minimal supervision.

Education & Experience:

  • Secondary School Diploma required.
  • Minimum 2 years experience as a security guard.
  • Completion of Community College Police Foundations program considered an asset.
  • Call Centre experience considered an asset.

Physical Demands & Environment:

  • Must be available to work overnight shifts and on holidays plus overtime if required.
  • Position involves working alone and long periods of sitting viewing monitors and TV screens.
