Freelance Storyboard Artist / Illustrator / Graphic Designer – AI Assisted (Midjourney)

Pixie Books uses new cutting edge, AI-driven animation, to create engaging Youtube videos and bring stories to life. We are looking for creative individuals to join our friendly group of storytellers and join us on a magical journey full of imagination. If you love storytelling, illustrating, and children’s literature, then we want to meet you!

We are looking for a few freelance visual storytellers to create illustrations for children’s stories using AI image generators.

Job Details

• Create and edit 13 – 17 images per book to visually tell the story using AI image generators, preferably Midjourney.
• Create each stories artistic style to best illustrate the story and bring it to life. We are looking for a variety of styles to enrich the visual impact of each story. Have a BIG Imagination? We love that about you!
• Ability to follow text briefs and design guidelines across various subject matter and visual styles.
• Excited to learn how to use Midjourney and other AI image generators. No previous experience necessary. Be on the forefront of learning new AI tools and skills. Become an AI Whisperer or Prompt Expert.
• Continuously research text-to-image prompt ideas, trends, and best practices.
• Typically, illustrations for a book take approximately 22-25 hours to complete.
• We are flexible and open to creating a production schedule that works for you.
• Rate is $500 per book.

Qualifications

• College or University degree in illustration, visual art, graphic design or equivalent.
• 2+ years of relevant working experience.
• Proficient with Photoshop and Premiere Pro.
• Strong visual storytelling techniques.
• Experience with AI Image Generators considered a huge asset!
• A love of children’s literature.

Must be legally eligible to work in Canada as specified or have a valid work permit that allows the candidate to fulfill the requirements of the role. Must be a resident of Ontario.
