Position Title: Nurse Practitioner- Emergency Department

Position Status: Part Time

Rate of Pay: $50.72- $60.90

About the Position
Norfolk General Hospital’s Emergency Department is seeking a Nurse Practitioner. The ideal candidates would be dedicated to patient care and committed to championing the Hospital’s Mission to relieve illness and suffering, and help people live healthier lives.

Education & Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Nursing (NP) or Registered Nurse - Extended Class.
• Currently a Nurse Practitioner member in good standing with the College of Nurses’ of Ontario (CNO).
• Current member of the Nurse Practitioner Association of Ontario (NPAO) and/or Registered Nurses Association of

Ontario (RNAO).

• Demonstrated practice reflecting the CNO professional standards of:
• Service to the public
• Knowledge
• Application of Knowledge
• Ethics
• Continued competence
• Professional Behaviour – accountability/responsibility
• Demonstrated experience in the development, implementation and evaluation of advanced nursing practices.
• Experience in the development of strategies to build capacity and improve health outcomes.
• Demonstrated experience in project management, continuous improvement and change initiatives.
• Ability to work collaboratively, flexibly and in partnership with multidisciplinary teams and agencies in the community and the broader health care system.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, organizational skills, and clinical acumen.
• Ability to use computer programs for data entry of assessments, etc.
• Demonstrated commitment to patient partnered care.
• Current CPR certificate – BCLS-C level
• Certificate in ACLS
• Adherence to all health and safety policies, procedures and provisions and the recognition and reporting of unsafe hazards and work practices

Hours of Work: Applicants must be willing to work shifts, weekends and holidays as required.

Care. Employing approximately 550 highly skilled and dedicated employees, Norfolk General Hospital continues to be a full service 106-bed hospital with round the clock on-call coverage of Specialists in Surgery, Anesthesia, Internal

Medicine, and Obstetrics, as well as on-site 24 hour per day medical coverage.

Simcoe is less than one hour away from most major centers, including Hamilton and London, and only 90 minutes from the Greater Toronto Area. Situated in Norfolk County (Ontario’s South Coast), Simcoe is not far from Lake Erie and the 88 miles of shoreline that includes long stretches of sandy beach.
