OPERATIONS | LESSON SUCCESS ASSISTANT MANAGER
Position: Lesson Success Assistant Manager, Full-time
Location: Remote Within Canada (Headquarters in Winnipeg, Manitoba)
Reports to: Senior Manager of Lesson Success
Hoot Reading is one of Canada’s fastest growing EdTech startups! We connect emerging readers and real teachers to practice reading over our proprietary video chat experience. We are rapidly growing and are looking for an Assistant Manager of Lesson
Success to join our team. This is an amazing opportunity to make a tangible contribution within an entrepreneurial tech company that is disrupting the traditional tutoring industry.
Working directly with the Operations team, the Assistant Manager of Lesson Success will play a critical role in managing day-to-day operations of the business, including live lesson success, development of team members, and client communication. This role is fit for someone with an Operations/Customer Service background who is highly organized, can work within multiple deadlines and areas, thrives in a fast paced environment, can excite and motivate a team, and isn’t afraid of learning on the fly.
What’s on your plate:
● Lead and develop the Lesson Success team through coaching and training
● Ensure all communication is being kept to the highest standard to our teacher network and users
● Seek new talent and conduct onboarding for new hires
● Conduct performance reviews
● Identify KPI and ticket trends
● Complete various reports related to our day to day operations
● Provide support and leadership to operations team members
The Ideal Candidate:
● 2+ years experience in a supervisor/ leadership role (remote management experience is considered an asset)
● Prior experience with customer service and handling escalated concerns
● Excellent written and oral communication skills
● Extremely organized
● Proven ability to prioritize and manage time efficiently
● Great attitude and thrives in a fast paced, dynamic and entrepreneurial environment
● Flexible availability with work within peak business hours
