OUR COMPANY

Metalex Products Ltd. is a secondary lead smelting and refining facility located in Richmond, British Columbia, Canada. We’re carrying on a company legacy that goes back more than 50 years. Our team of about 20 employees offers our customers two essential services:

1. BATTERY RECYCLING

We process lead-acid batteries to reclaim lead, plastic, and acid. And we refine battery lead and other types of scrap lead into alloys required by our industrial customers.

2. LEAD ALLOY SALES FOR INDUSTRIAL USE

Title: Decasing Operator

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

Location: Richmond, BC

HIRING IMMEDIATELY, MULTIPLE OPENINGS AVAILABLE

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Decasing Operator is responsible for operating the Battery Recycling plant, transporting raw materials and recyclable materials throughout the plant.

Rotating 8 hour shifts Monday to Friday: 6:30am-3pm, 2:30pm-11pm

Pay Rate: $30 per hour Monday- Friday

Key Accountabilities

· Transport raw materials, scrap and recyclable materials throughout plant manually or using forklift, overhead crane or other powered equipment

· Sort and pick materials on a production conveyor

· Clean work areas and equipment

· May assist with minor repairs and maintenance

· Operate battery de-casing and cleaning equipment such as industrial power washers, vacuums, sweepers and floor cleaners

· Perform other duties as assigned by management

Experience, Qualifications & Education

· Completion of secondary school

· Experience in a related production line occupation or as a warehouse worker Forklift and/or Overhead crane experience an asset

· WorkSafeBC Rights and Responsibilities, WHMIS training

· Physical strength is required for manual material handling materials

· Long standing, walking and some minimal climbing of ladders and stairs

· Wearing and maintenance of required PPE including respirator mask
