What responsibilities will you have in this role?
- Acts as first point of contact for the International Admissions and Enrolment Services, providing student support and enquiry response via telephone, email, virtually, and in person.
- Provides general clerical duties including photocopying, word processing, faxing; sorting and distribution of incoming and outgoing mail; ordering office supplies and equipment.
- Prepares student proof of enrolment and graduation letters for application and renewal of study permits, work permits, and temporary resident visas.
- Provides advisement on policy and procedural issues related to international admissions and student services.
- Refers students to the appropriate department for specific issues (registration, counselling, academic advisement, financial assistance, housing, health insurance, immigration or external organizations related to student services, etc.).
- Demonstrates sound judgement and diplomacy while communicating with agents and students over the phone, and ensures accurate advice, information and direction is provided on a variety of issues.
- Offers solutions on student services, application and registration processes for all programs according to College policies, and refers students to other academic departments and service centers as appropriate.
- Promotes effective, interpersonal, co-operative work relationships and supports the teamwork structure, both internally and with external partners.
- Other duties as assigned.
What qualifications do you need for this role?
- Three-year diploma or degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in Business Administration, or related field and or equivalent experience.
- Minimum two years’ experience working in an office environment, including providing a high level of customer service to diverse clientele in a high-volume educational setting, with demonstrated ability prioritize to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated intermediate knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, and relational databases.
- Experience in processing high-volume, complex and specialized information and providing guidance is required.
- Experience in problem-solving complex situations, troubleshooting and resolving conflicts, exercising tact, discretion and sound judgment.
- Experience in providing excellent customer service/support; well-developed interpersonal skills, including cross-cultural sensitivity.
- Experience in prioritizing and managing pressure associated with the management of numerous high-volume tasks in a busy service environment, high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Experience working independently and as a team member.
- Ability to work in an environment where a diversity of people and situations are encountered.
- Ability to travel to different campuses and travel abroad, as required.
- Demonstrated commitment in delivering excellent service to others as this is key in supporting the success of our students and our College.
Interview process may consist of a practical skills component.
