The Role:
The Personal Support Worker (PSW) provides person-centered care within an interdisciplinary team consistent with the mission and values of Sunnyside Home.

Requirements:
Personal Support Worker (PSW) Certificate from a Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care approved program.

Good interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to work within a diverse community and ability to deal empathetically with residents, family members in order to contribute to their well-being.

Ability to work effectively independently or as a part of a multidisciplinary health care team.

Police Vulnerable Sector Checks (PVSC) that is satisfactory to the Region of Waterloo.

Immunizations: Two-step Tuberculosis (TB) test , COVID 19 (2 doses) and the annual influenza immunization

Wage rate: $26.34 - $27.66 (plus 12% in lieu of benefits and 4% in lieu of vacation)

As a condition of employment, new Region of Waterloo employees who work in Seniors’ Services (Sunnyside Home) are required to submit proof of COVID-19 vaccination (two doses) from the Ontario Ministry of Health website or World Health Organization directly through the Region of Waterloo Vaccination declaration survey. Successful candidates who have appropriate written proof of a validated medical reason, for not being vaccinated against COVID-19 may provide such documentation to the Recruitment Team. Such situations will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
