Who we’re looking for

The OV Burger Bar is looking for a Prep Chef to grow with our business and contribute to our focused concept of serving the best burger to the community of Prince Rupert.

This will be an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to further develop their experience in the Back of House. In this role, you will be supporting our Chefs with prepping and cleaning, contributing to our goal of delivering a high quality product

The right fit

The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of experience in the Back of House. You offer a consistent approach in your prep process that directly contributes to the quality of our output. You strive to maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment.

The must haves

• 1-3+ years culinary experience
• A passion for culinary and creating memorable experiences
• A desire to learn and grow through personal and professional development
• The ability to consistently produce a high quality food product
• Demonstrated skills at maintaining a clean and safe work environment
• Strong sense of teamwork to accomplish your deliverables
• Excellent communication and collaboration especially during busy periods and when under pressure
• Follow a Standard Order of Procedures to prepare and create products
• Valid Food Safe Certification

The nice to haves

• Have an entrepreneurial mindset; identifying additional areas of support and areas of process improvement
• WHMIS certification
• Familiarity with kitchen equipment and maintenance requirements

About us

The Ocean View Hotel is one of the longest standing hotels to serve the community and embrace visitors in Prince Rupert. Under new ownership, the OV Burger Bar is the first step towards injecting a new and promising vision to the Ocean View Hotel, which aims to bring a high quality product and a great experience to its customers.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Salary: $16.00-$19.00 per hour
