Job Description

• Competently operate production equipment
• Carry out all required packaging as outlined for specific products
• Carry out work which includes the movement of raw materials and finished goods as required
• Conduct preventative maintenance (equipment/facility cleaning) general housekeeping
• Conduct product testing as required
• Line troubleshooting and problem solving
• Assisting on mechanical tasks as required
• Must have effective interpersonal skills and be able to effectively relate to other employees on the line; employees from other departments and management in order to ensure that metrics such as safety, total employee involvement, production, quality of raw materials, quality of finished goods, technical and equipment, housekeeping etc. are met.
• Must be able to demonstrate the skill, ability, reliability, adaptability, efficiency, initiative, conduct and the physical fitness to perform the duties of the job.
• Must be able and willing to accept responsibility and accountability for the performance of their duties, in the areas of safety an in the application of continuous improvement processes.
• Must be able to learn and teach continuous improvement methods to other employees.
• Must have good administrative, oral and written communication skills.
• Must have a working knowledge of and possess reasonable word processing skills.
• Must be flexible to work all shifts as required – no exception
• Actively participate in vertical startups and proper setup of equipment during production runs and changeovers.
• Ensure that we run and operate in centerline compliance.
• Trouble shoots any and all raw material ingredient and/or packaging issues.
• Make adjustments / repairs / improvements as appropriate.
• Day to day line communications and activities to ensure that activities are well coordinated and that the line is running effectively.
• Active RCO participant, make improvements, work with suppliers and customers.
• Participate in any validation, commissioning, improvement testing with suppliers etc.
• Completion and submission of reports as appropriate.

Any other duties as assigned by the Production Frontline LeaderQualifications/Requirements

• Production Machine operational functions experience
• Lift truck operation certification (Preferred)
• Keyboard entries
• SPC knowledge (on-line trend charting etc.)
• Interpreting charts, S.P.I.’s (process documentation)
• HS&E training/compliance experience
• Complete process knowledge – Food Process or GMP experience preferred
• WHMIS knowledge
• TPM or other Continuous Improvement program knowledge and experience
• Ability to work in a unionized environment
