The Location: Grand River Foods is based in Cambridge, Ontario. Our location is commutable from a number of cities in the region: Kitchener, Waterloo, Brantford, Guelph, and more. For those living in Cambridge, our facility is located nearby a number of GRT transit stops.

GRF is currently seeking candidates for both the day and afternoon shifts.

Day shift: 6:00am/7:00am start time - 2:00pm/3:00pm end time - interested candidates must be able to start any time between 6:00am and 7:00am, and able to end any time between 2:00pm and 3:00pm

Afternoon shift: 2:00pm/3:00pm start time - 10:00pm/11:00pm end time - interested candidates must be able to start any time between 2:00pm and 3:00pm, and able to end any time between 10:00pm and 11:00pm

GRF operates in a cold, fast-paced, and physical environment. Applicants must be comfortable handling meat products (beef, pork, chicken, seafood, soy, etc.) and must be comfortable with 10-40 pounds of repetitive lifting.

Responsibilities:
  • Manually pack product into bags, cartons or other containers
  • Remove finished goods cartons from conveyor and place on pallets
  • Spread products before the oven for evenness & look for foreign material
  • Inspect and sort products and packages that do not meet specified standards
  • Lifting, dumping and stacking 10-40 lbs. boxes of product
  • Pushing 200-500 lbs. bins from blending area to production line (bins are on wheels)
  • Regularly inspect work environment for good housekeeping
  • Communicate effectively with Team Leaders and other employees
  • Repetitive tasks and standing in one spot for extended periods of time
  • Must wear all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) supplied
Requirements:
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada and be minimum 18 years of age
  • Able to communicate effectively with teammates and leadership
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and in a team environment
  • Good attendance record required
  • Positive attitude and safety focused
  • Comfortable working around meat (handling using gloves, smells, etc).
  • Comfortable working in the cold (4°C) and exposure to extreme temperatures (-10° to 30°C)
  • Previous food industry experience including GMPs and basic food handling are assets
Wages and Benefits:
Per our Winter hiring incentive, all employees will start at the FULLY TRAINED SHIFT RATE until the end of December 2022. No waiting to increase to full rate!
