A Successful Candidate:
- Must hold a valid and current provincial or inter-provincial (Red Seal) Millwright ticket
- Must be a high school graduate or have the GED equivalency
- Must successfully meet the Company standards for the Aptitude and Physical Testing, pre-employment medical and provision of a Criminal Records Check
- Must be willing to work rotating shifts in a plant that operates 7 days a week, 24 hours a day
- Must be committed to safety and producing the highest quality product
- Ability to work in a team based environment
- Forest products manufacturing experience would be considered an asset.
- Must be willing to relocate to Terrace Bay (relocation assistance provided)
What the role entails:
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair industrial machinery and equipment
- Operate hoisting and lifting devices to position machinery and parts during repairs
- Pre-run all production machines prior to start up
- Promote safe work practices in the plant i.e. lock-out procedures
- Carry out duties as specified by the maintenance supervisor and lead hand
- Complete all paperwork/reports in a timely and accurate manner
- Troubleshooting and repairing production equipment in a timely manner
- Problem solve, analyze and identify waste areas and recommend solutions
- Maintain ongoing communication with other departments and assist in continuous equipment efficiency
