Sunnyside Home is a long-term care home owned by the Region of Waterloo in the Stanley Park area of Kitchener. Our 263 residents are part of a vibrant community in a park-like setting on a campus of services for older adults.

We are seeking passionate and enthusiastic Registered Practical Nurses to join our organization. A great opportunity to become an integral part of a collaborative and inter-disciplinary team focused on delivering exemplary care to our clients.
The Role:
The Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) uses nursing skill, knowledge and judgement to provide person-centered care within an interdisciplinary team consistent with the mission and values of Sunnyside Home.
Requirements:
Successful completion of a Practical Nurse Program from a recognized institution.
Current Certificate of Registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario.
Practicum experience in a long term care facility or other geriatrics environment.
Good interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to work within a diverse community and ability to deal empathetically with
residents, family members in order to contribute to their well-being.
Ability to work effectively independently or as a part of a multidisciplinary health care team.
Police Vulnerable Sector Checks (PVSC) that is satisfactory to the Region of Waterloo.
Immunizations: Two-step Tuberculosis (TB) test , COVID 19 (2 doses) and the annual influenza immunization
Wage Rate: $29.66 - $31.83 (plus 12% in lieu of benefits and 4% in lieu of vacation)
As a condition of employment, new Region of Waterloo employees who work in Seniors’ Services (Sunnyside Home) are required to submit proof of COVID-19 vaccination (two doses) from the Ontario Ministry of Health website or World Health Organization directly through the Region of Waterloo Vaccination declaration survey. Successful candidates who have appropriate written proof of a validated medical reason, for not being vaccinated against COVID-19 may provide such documentation to the Recruitment Team. Such situations will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
