Currently we are hiring local Safety Watch & Spark Watch & River Watch for projects in Skookumchuk, BC. Applicants must be able to get to the worksite as travel and LOA is not provided. Applicants must be physically capable of performing labour and standing for long periods. All training is provided. Priority will be given to individuals who have experience within the industry.
Qualifications
- Must speak and write English clearly and fluently
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Project work and labour experience is an asset
- Must be physically capable of standing for long periods and performing light labour tasks if required
- Must be able to work in all types of weather with little supervision.
- Must have a personal cellphone as well as basic computer knowledge
- Must successfully complete internal training, as required
- Must provide own ankle covering steel toed boots
- Having reliable transportation to get to and from site is an asset
- *Valid OFA 1 or equipment operator certificate considered an asset but not required
Responsibilities
- Participate in all pre-job and daily tailgate meetings
- Responsible for monitoring and recording confined space activity as required
- Responsible for performing labour duties as required
- Monitor hot work activities and know how to operate fire extinguisher, inform relative authorities, and safely evacuate the area in case of emergency
- Monitor atmospheric air quality using electronic gas monitor devices
- Responsible for monitoring the river levels and communicating with the supervisor if levels are outside of the set parameters.
- Wear a respirator protection mask where necessary
- Assess and communicate all hazards and conditions involved in the work site with Supervisor
- Operate a radio to communicate as required
- Complete all necessary logs and paperwork as required

Salary: $20.00 per hour
