Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) is hiring a Sales Consultant, Foodservice on a permanent basis in The Grocery People (TGP) Independent Business team. This position is a hybrid opportunity, with regular onsite customer visits, and will be based in Edmonton.

What you’ll do:

  • Maintain and grow sales territory by meeting pre-determined targets for food service street and corporate accounts, providing consultative support, identifying new business opportunities and product delivery improvements.
  • Proactively identify and qualify new prospect food service and corporate customers by staying informed of changes in the hospitality industry and progressing through the onboarding process to mature the account.
  • Stay informed of food service operator's landscape and vendor manufacturing industry product innovation, and leverage resources such as our Culinary Centre to continuously learn and apply knowledge to grow client trust and engagement.
  • Attend and participate in team sales meetings, team huddles, Culinary Centre programs, and customer facing events.
  • Travel 75% of the workday participating in-person customer visits within Edmonton & greater Edmonton area.

Who you’ll work with:

The Team: You will work closely with the Foodservice Sales, Culinary Centre and TGP Wholesale Market Teams. Our sales team strives to bring out the absolute best in each other; cultivate a culture of collaboration, support, and innovation within a group of professional people who actively participate in maintaining a positive, enjoyable work environment.

The Collaborators: You will work closely with the foodservice vendor community, coordinating joint customers calls to grow the business.

Who you are:

You are looking for a career in Sales & Marketing and:

  • Have a degree, with a preference for Business or Marketing
  • Have 3 – 5 years of relevant culinary management experience in the foodservice industry. (a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered)
  • Journeyman, Red Seal Commercial Cooking Certification, or professional sales training would be an asset.
  • Have a Class 5 driver’s license.
