Job Overview
BC Green is currently looking for an Senior Accountant to join our team in Princeton, BC. Reporting to the Controller, the ideal candidate aspires to work in the fast paced and growing cannabis industry. The successful candidate will initially be responsible for supporting month-end close processes, preparation, and review of schedules and reconciliations (with a specific emphasis on Raw Materials, WIP and Finish Goods inventory), implementation and monitoring of key controls, preparing and developing financial reports and assisting with budgeting and forecasting initiatives.

Role and Responsibilities
- Monthly preparation of accounting month-end cycle reports, including comprehensive reporting of raw materials, WIP and finished goods inventory
- Preparation of monthly inventory reports to Health Canada (CTLS) and CRA’s excise department (B300 filing)
- Assisting with the implementation of new inventory reporting processes
- Preparation on monthly journal entries and reconciliations
- Responsible to ensure accuracy of financial information presentation in a multi-entity environment
- Reconciliation of inter-company transactions
- Assist in quarterly and annual financial statement preparation and audit
- Support the Corporate Controller in the financial reporting process
- Collaborate in internal control improvement
- Participate in other monthly reporting and ad-hoc projects
- Overseeing the day-to-day bookkeeping across all entities
- Collaborate with Controller, CFO and COO to gather key data and compile rolling budgets and managerial reports for CFO and senior management
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Technology, Operations, and Commercial departments on design and testing of new ERP modules

Qualifications
- Accounting Diploma or Degree from a University, College or technical school;
- Over 5 years of related accounting experience in public and/or privately owned companies
- Proficiency in Quickbooks, advance excel skills and experience with ERP system implementations is preferred
- Experience in manufacturing is preferred

- Strong time management and organizational skills and the ability to manage conflicting priorities within structured deadlines and deliverables.
- Keen desire to learn about the operations of the company, in a newly regulated industry
- Motivated to develop process enhancements in the accounting and finance department
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization
- Ability to read, write and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions and share-based compensation.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills; high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Uphold confidentiality, ethics, and demonstrate a high level of discretion at all times
- Leadership and supervisory experience may be required
- Business acumen to oversee the budgetary control issues, project management and continuous improvement initiatives of the company.
- Ability to work independently
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Proficient in spoken and written English.
