Our Central Island public practice client is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their growing team. Located in the quaint and quirky town of Duncan - less than an hour between Victoria and Nanaimo - this location offers the best of what Vancouver Island has to offer.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Assistance with office work flow and deadline completion tracking
• Preparation of T1, T2 and T3 Tax filings
• Preparation of Compilation Financial Statements
• Preparation of minimal Review Engagements
• Year end preparation within Caseware Working Papers
• Assistance with preparation of T4/T5 and similar tax slips
• Correspondence with Canada Revenue Agency

The ideal candidate will possess:

• 5 years or more of tax and accounting work experience (ideally in a public practice setting)
• Experience with Sage, Quickbooks (desktop and online), Caseware, Intuit Profile
• Proficient in Microsoft word and excel
• A positive attitude towards continued educational growth
• Team player
• Willingness and comfortable communicating with clients
• Ability to multi-task
• Ability to prioritize files and meeting multiple deadlines simultaneously
