As True North Seafood grows, and our operations and product portfolios expand, we have identified the need for a dedicated Production Planning & Inventory Control Senior Manager to oversee our inventory control processes and manage the accuracy and visibility of our frozen products across North America.

The Role

Reporting to the Director of Distribution, you will be responsible for:

  • Implementing and overseeing strict inventory control processes
  • Overseeing inventory levels to ensure business needs are met
  • Driving inventory down through the implementation of these processes
  • Supporting the development of standard naming convention for all inventory items (SKUs)
  • Focusing on the improvement of current manual process toward integrated ERP and automation
  • Ensuring slow moving sku’s have proper visibility and are communicated for action
  • Developing inventory tracking and forecasting tools
  • Developing purchase and replenishment tools supported by documented product lead times
  • Working with accounting to ensure accounting book values are accurate
  • Overseeing sales order management process to ensure on-time-delivery for customer orders
  • Overseeing Inventory Reconciliations to ensure warehouse locations are balanced for month end
  • Ensuring shipping and receiving of inventory is properly recorded in the system
  • Ensuring to arrange for regular inventory counts at all facilities
  • Overseeing raw material purchasing to ensure demand is met for production
  • Assisting in developing production plans in adherence to the company’s need and budget

A successful candidate will:

  • Bring a minimum of 5-10 years of inventory management in a manufacturing or food processing environment
  • Have a bachelor’s degree or diploma in inventory management, supply chain management, industrial engineering, or business administration
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
