We are looking for an energetic, creative, experienced butcher who will contribute to our busy Mississauga location. We offer competitive salary and benefit package.

Expectations would be for the successful candidate to not only bring the meat cutting skills but also have a desire to become an expert sausage maker. Learning ingredient mixing, grinding, salting, fermenting, curing and stuffing.

Butcher Duties and Responsibilities:

· Cut, bone, trim meat

· Ensure product meets company standards

· Sharpen and adjust cutting equipment- ensure safe equipment handling: guards in place, equipment is in good working condition

· Cut and prepare meats to company specification

· Prepare cuts of meat to be ready for distribution or to move into the sausage making department.

· Learn and develop into a seasoned sausage maker and a superior team member

· Maintain and clean the cutting room including equipment to reduce the risk of food contamination and adhere to food safety guidelines

Requirements:

· At least 3 years’ experience

· Able to work in cold environment

· Able to meet the physical demands of the job including standing for long periods of time, lifting 50lbs

· Experience in working as part of a highly skilled team and have willingness to learn

· High school or equivalent
